Maine.

That's where I am. And without the equipment to upload things so...NO THEMES! (for a day or two). Recently, an evil on-line drug robot has started to leave inane comments on posts, which I find annoying and offensive. I would actually bash that robots' brains in if it were in my power. I also have been getting an insane amount of junkmail, and I think it's becuase I had posted my e-mail in my profile (which is now gone - sorry). Any suggestions for righting this wrong? Quickly, before more robots die (I just threw my toast robot (a.k.a. a "toaster" out the window).

Is there really a "Casa de Kielbasa"? Please let it be so.

Theme number 86.

I was wondering...Does this work? I didn't have a pair of 3-D glasses lying around, but I thought it would look nifty if I tried this out. If it doesn't, I'm sorry.

Karaoke.

Here are some sketches I did post-SPX karaoke last Saturday. It was sweaty. I met so many new folks this time around; I wish I could've drawn more of them (a la Mr. Matthew Reidsma). You'll just have to settle for these. Maybe I'll color them. Maybe.
Mr. Alec Longstreth

Miss Liz Prince

Mr. Aaron Renier I can't remember what he sang, only that he sang sweetly to everything.

Mr. Joe

and me.

I'm not really sure who the person in the left corner is...I thought is was me, but when I inked it, I thought, "That kinda looks like Liz Baillie" (who I unfortunately didn't get to meet). So maybe that's her rocking out to Weezer.

Oh yeah, and Jeff Smith rode in the back of my car (OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG.), but Joe already posted about that...

Back.

Greetings. I have returned from SPX. My eyes actually did fall out of my head...

but only after I had successfully eaten a pudding cup.

Okay seriously. I had a wonderful time at SPX. I bought lots and lots of comics, I sold stuff, traded stuff, sang karaoke, and so on. Every year I ask myself: Is it worth the drive? and every year the answer is: yes. I had so much fun, in fact, that I vomitted a rainbow:

And Liz was nice enough to help me clean it up!

I know I normally don't post pictures (except when I'm making up for lack of "art"), but here's some shots from the trip (in no particular order).

Bethesda, Maryland: here we come.

In a couple of hours, I (along with Joe, Liz, and Mr. Tim Finn) will be heading south to attend SPX in glorious Bethesda, Maryland (home of the infamous Original House of Pancakes). As promised, I'm previewing some of my wares on ye ol' blog. First up, I printed t-shirts:

These dinos actually GLOW-IN-THE-DARK! I'm excited; this is the first time in years that I've had shirts for sale, and its an all new design.

Next up is a sample from the 32-page mini comic "Talk Nerdy to Me":

The book is all nerd-inspired bedroom chat, along with some pin-ups from Mr. Joe and Miss Liz (I'll be showcasing those later on the blog).

Then, Liz and I collaborated to bring you "Duddits", the 40-page tale of a slighty deranged pillow-monster and his real-world escapades:

We did a series of activity pages to supplement the main story; this one makes me hungry for tacos (but not poop).

If you, or anyone you know, is going to be in the vicinity, send them on down. I'd love to meet any dotsoforeyes blog readers! (As well as see some SPX regulars.)

Theme number 82.

Whew. I'm in Maine right now, finishing up some work from the summer. I'm also busting my butt getting together two mini-comics for SPX. I think my eyes are going to pop out of their sockets. I'd draw a picture of that happening if my hand weren't so cramped up. I would like to add that Chanterelle mushrooms are excellent if sautéed and placed upon a cheese and herb pizza. (I've become somewhat obsessed with food as of late. I'm not sure if it is because of ye ol' Harvest-time, or if I was deprived by eating camp food all summer). Needless to say, I've been appreciating the more tasty things that nature has to offer. O.K. Enough about this, because this really has nothing to do with the actual post. I'm just going on a tangent. And now I'm ending it. For reals.

Ok. New coloring technique! I actually used a different brush in Photoshop! How painterly of me...But seriously, I'm trying to finish up those themes. Remember those? Well, time to put the pedal to the cloth interior.

On a side note, is anyone out there going to the Small Press Expo (SPX) in good ol' Bethesda, Maryland this year? I'll be previewing some of the comics (minis) I'll have for sale there on the blog (soonish). If you're not going, then you'll just have to be teased with the blog teasers.

Return of the Blog

After several empty promises (will you ever trust me again?), I am attempting to be consistent with my postings once again. I'm finally settled into the new apartment, and wired, baby! Yeah, high-speed internets! YouTube and lolcats for all! To whet your palette, here is a collaborative piece:
